Unlike past independent candidates for U.S. President John Anderson (In 1980, the League of Women Voters invited independent John Anderson to their first presidential debate (with Ronald Reagan), and President Jimmy Carter refused to attend.) and Ross Perot (The 1992 presidential election cycle featured incumbent President George H.W. Bush, a Republican; Arkansas Gov. Bill Clinton, the Democratic nominee; and businessman Ross Perot, running as an independent.), – Robert F. Kennedy Jr. (RFK Jr.) was blocked (arguably illegally) by the Donald Trump and Joseph Biden political organizations along with CNN from participating.
Millions of Americans – having no intention of voting for either Donald Trump or Joseph Biden – instead watched a unique livestreamed event featuring RFK Jr.’s responses to Trump and Biden’s answers to CNN debate questions.
Millions more, both Americans and interested people worldwide, will likely watch “The Real Debate” in the days and weeks ahead leading to November and Election Day.
