Donald Trump, State Sponsored Terrorists, And “Shell Game.”

By Jerry Alatalo

“The essence of lying is in deception, not in words; a lie may be told in silence, by the accent on a syllable, by a glance of the eye attaching a peculiar significance to a sentence; but all of these kinds of lies are worse and baser by many degrees than a lie plainly worded.”

– JOHN RUSKIN (1819-1900) British writer

olitical analyst and former U.S. Army psychological warfare officer Scott Bennett has since 2012-2013 been relentlessly trying to bring appropriate action in the U.S. government on explosive information about terrorist financing presented in his book “Shell Game”. Mr. Bennett wrote the book after meeting Swiss bank whistleblower Brad Birkenfeld in prison where both men served sentences for crimes neither committed, and where Brad Birkenfeld shared a massive amount of information directly related to Saudi bank accounts used for financing ISIS, Al Qaeda and similar terrorist groups, obtained while Birkenfeld was an executive at UBS Bank in Switzerland.

After leaving prison, Bennett wrote “Shell Game” detailing the scandalous facts Birkenfeld shared with him, then sent reports to virtually every member (Republican and Democrat) of the U.S. Congress, top military officials and numerous major media outlets in America. That was in the 2012-2013 time period during the presidency of Barack Obama, and his efforts came to naught – not one elected U.S. official, military commander or media outlet took action to investigate, speak out, or report on the enormous scandal.

Press TV of Iran and RT (Russia) have had Scott Bennett on their political talk programs many times in recent years, yet he has never been seen and heard describing the profound scandal he discovered then wrote about on any Western corporate media outlet. In contrast, Mr. Bennett’s massive story has become known by millions of men and women who have decided to leave mainstream media, choosing instead to get their news from alternative or independent sources, namely the internet.

During an appearance on PressTV’s talk program “The Debate” with fellow guest, columnist, political scientist and radio host Wilmer Leon recently, Bennett noted that he has shared his book and story with the Donald Trump administration, and that he has high expectations the scandal will finally become revealed after years of effective and total coverup. Those years up until today have shown unanimous American high-level leaders’ disregard and ignoring of the stupendous world-consequence facts involved.

Scott Bennett has in the past described the information contained in his book “Shell Game” as of greater consequence than the Watergate and Iran-Contra scandals combined.

We wrote the following comments after watching the remarkable discussion:

“It would be a very good idea to invite these two gentlemen back for another conversation, focused on the much deeper and more important topic of “state-sponsored terrorism” – because in this discussion Mr. Leon was focused on wiretapping of Trump and Mr. Bennett was focused on terrorist financing using major international banks like UBS in Switzerland”.

“If Mr. Bennett and Mr. Leon were to sit down for an hours-long conversation it is highly likely they would come to a profound agreement and understanding of what is reported in the book “Shell Game”, which, it is essential to note, was sent in 2012-2013 to virtually every member of the House of Representatives and Senate of the United States – and where NOT ONE elected official responded by initiating appropriate investigations”.

“In defense of Mr. Leon, he is unaware of the truly explosive information Mr. Bennett put in his book and has for years been trying to bring to the attention of government officials, American citizens, and/or anyone who could help bring the absolutely disturbing truth out in the open. Mr. Leon asked the correct and reasonable question when he suggested Republicans took no action on the terrorist financing scandal against the Obama administration between 2008 and 2016, and the answer is that BOTH Republican and Democrat elected officials ignored Mr. Bennett’s efforts to reveal the evidence of major terrorist financing crimes”.

“The essential question now becomes: Will President Donald Trump act on Mr. Bennett’s years-long efforts to bring the horrendous truth, or will President Donald Trump maintain the enormous and continuing BIPARTISAN coverup of the 21st century?”

Jill Stein, Ajamu Baraka Support Standing Rock Protectors.

By Jerry Alatalo

“Water is the principal, or the element, of things.”

– THALES OF MILETUS (640-546 B.C.) Semitic founder of Greek sciences, philosophy

Alphabet It seemed only natural that the Green Party’s candidates for President and Vice President of the United States, Dr. Jill Stein and Ajamu Baraka, would find their way to North Dakota to express their support for those attempting to close down the Dakota Access Pipeline. When your party platform features a proposal calling for a “New Green Deal” and America becoming 100% energy independent with renewable energy by the year 2030, being in solidarity against multi-billion dollar fossil fuel infrastructure that further threatens the environment is simply the obvious choice.

It is uncertain whether the other candidates – Hillary Clinton, Donald Trump and Gary Johnson – have expressed their opinions one way or another with regard to the Dakota Access Pipeline, but thus far Dr. Stein and Mr. Baraka are the only candidates to travel and join the thousands trying to stop what is now becoming referred to as the “Black Snake”. The events in North Dakota, despite minimal or zero coverage by American corporate media companies, have become a matter of international interest.

Leaders at the historic gathering in North Dakota have made it cleat that their efforts are entirely peaceful and prayerful, reminding many observers of the actions of civil disobedience in India led by Mohandes Gandhi that resulted in that nation’s independence from the British Empire. Ultimately, whether the Dakota Access Pipeline will end or go ahead toward its completion will become argued and decided in the courts.

Putting aside local, regional, national and international laws pertinent to the pipeline, the issue lifts serious questions surrounding the environment, climate change, economic justice, political power and leaving a healthy world for future generations to a higher, much more prominent level. In particular, the “Green New Deal” proposed by Dr. Stein and Mr. Baraka has reached greater status, focus and consideration in light of the North Dakota situation.

People might be wondering how different the reaction might have been had, instead of a fossil fuels pipeline putting at risk the water needed to survive in the region, the project consisted of the same territory being built up with thousands of solar panels and wind towers. Clearly, solar panels and wind turbines pose absolutely zero threat to the environment in contrast. Such a comparison describes the choice, the energy future, offered to American voters by the Stein|Baraka campaign.

Those same American voters have slightly more than 60 days to think about the environment and other major issues, weigh the options, and make their choices. It might help voters in making their decisions to consider what happened in history at Chernobyl, Fukushima, the Gulf of Mexico and other regions of the Earth where environmental disasters produced great harm to all life forms, including men, women and children.

From that standpoint, it’s reasonable to suggest that Standing Rock, North Dakota in September 2016 may represent a major historical turning point for the human race.

Standing Rock And The Spirit Of Sitting Bull.

By Jerry Alatalo

“It matters little where we pass the remnants of our days – they will not be many. A few more moons, a few more winters, and not one of the descendants of the mighty hosts that once moved over this broad land, or lived in happy homes protected by the Great Spirit, will remain to mourn over the graves of a people once more powerful and hopeful than yours. But why should I mourn at the untimely fate of my people? Tribe follows tribe, nation follows nation, like the waves of the sea. It is the order of nature and regret is useless. Your time of decay may be distant but it surely will come, for even the white man whose God walked and talked with him as friend with friend cannot be exempt from the common destiny. We may be brothers after all. We shall see.”

CHIEF SEATTLE (1780-1866) Native American leader

ROLLING THUNDER (1916-1997) Medicine man, spiritual healer:

“Modern man talks of harnessing nature, conquering nature, and making nature a servant of man. This shows modern man doesn’t know the first thing about nature and nature’s ways… and the condition of the environment today proves that. Now everyone’s afraid – afraid of air pollution, radioactivity and poisoned water.”

“The land is becoming contaminated and the resources are disappearing or becoming unusable, and now people wonder if it’s too late. You can’t make any kind of laws or system to control nature or to control man’s inner nature, his consciousness or his natural behavior – the way he thinks and feels. That cannot be controlled.”

“No individual or group can block another individual’s path or change it against what fits his nature and his purpose. It might be done for a time, but in the end it won’t work out. It will only lead to danger and fear for everyone. Even in healing we take that into account.”

“A true healer considers a man’s karma and his destiny. He has a way of looking into and understanding what is meant to be according to each individual’s own progress and unfoldment. That way things are more realistic and it saves everyone a lot of trouble. Nature is to be respected. All life and every single living being is to be respected – that’s the only answer.”

“Back in Oklahoma some years ago there was a meeting – the first such high level meeting in over a hundred years – where chiefs and medicine men came together from all over the continent, and some from South America. The Iroquois came from New York and they brought a board with writing on it. On the last day of the ceremonies we formed a huge circle.”

“The circle is the Great Spirit’s emblem. All life is a circle. The world is a circle and the atoms are circles. The circle is seen on the rock writings and it goes around all things, it takes in all things. When we met in Oklahoma, we formed a huge circle of all native tribes and we smoked the peace pipe to the sun, and it stayed lit around that huge circle.”

“Then the Iroquois brought out the board with writing on it and interpreted it. They said: ‘Today our tribes are united again.’ The emblem showed a chain of hands – people holding hands in a circle – and they said: ‘Today our people have formed the circle of brotherhood and friendship here.’ ”

“Eventually this circle will go around the world. The brotherhood and peace that the world is seeking will now start on this land here. All the people here will be joined in the circle of friendship and brotherhood, and that circle will go around the world.”

From “The Morning Prayer” (Sapji Sahib – Sikh):

God’s seat and his stores are in countless worlds created by him.

Everything is put there once and for all, enough forever.

Having created the creation God is beholding it.

The works of God are true.

Instead of one tongue may I have hundreds of thousands and twenty times that, and with each tongue over and over again I would repeat God’s name.

This is the path of stages leading to the master ascending to make union with God.

By hearing such sounds of the songs of heaven, even the meanest worms would desire to compete.

God is obtained by his grace, and false is the boasting of the false ones.

It is not in anyone’s power to speak or to remain silent.

It is not in anyone’s power to beg or to give.

The man has no power to live or to die.

The man has no power to acquire riches and kingdoms which stir a big commotion in the mind.

It is beyond our power to gain understanding of divine knowledge and meditation.

It is not in our power to find the path of freedom from the bondage of life and death.

God who has the power exercises and beholds it.

None can be good or bad by his own strength.

God created nights, seasons, lunar days and weekdays.

God created wind, water, fire and the nether lands.

In between these God established the Earth as home to practice truth and virtue.

God created different kinds of species with various colors and habits; such species have countless different names.

They are judged according to their deeds and actions.

God himself is true and true in his court.

There the accepted saints look graceful.

The marks of blessing and mercy of God is poured upon all.

The good and bad of everyone are judged there.

True facts become known in his court; when you go home you will see this.

The above is the moral duty of the realm of righteousness – now we narrate the working of the realm of knowledge.

Countless are winds, waters, fires, Krishnas and Shivas.

There are countless Brahmas who are fashioning in various forms, colors and clothes.

There are a number of Earths and mountains for doing various deeds, and there are innumerable lessons to be learned.

There are many Indras, suns and moons, galaxies and countries.

There are countless yogis, enlightened ones, and countless forms of goddesses.

There are countless gods, demons, saints, jewels and oceans.

There are countless sources of creation, languages, and many dominions of kings.

Countless are the men of knowledge and countless the servants of God.

There is no end to God’s bounds.

In the domain of knowledge spiritual learning shines brightly.

There it produces endless delight, melodies, amusement and joys.

The language of reaching the realm of spiritual happiness is beautiful.

Unique beautiful forms having no parallel are finished there.

What is happening in that sphere cannot be described.

If anyone tries to describe it they shall have to repent afterwards.

There inner consciousness, intellect, soul and understanding are molded.

There the genius of the pious persons and men of miracles is molded.

In the sphere of action and grace the spiritual power is the main force.

No one else can reside there but those blessed with the spiritual force.

The very powerful warriors and heroes reside there.

In them the might of the pervading God remains fulfilled.

Everyone is fully merged with God’s admiration there.

Their forms of beauty are indescribable.

They never die nor are they created because God’s name resides in their hearts.

The saints of various worlds reside there.

They cherish the holy eternal ever in their hearts.

Formless God resides in the realm of truth.

God beholds the creation which he has created, and grants his kind glance and bestows upon them happiness.

There are continents, universes and solar systems in that region.

If someone tries to describe them, he knows there is no limit or end to this.

There are universe upon universe and creations over creations.

They function according to orders issued by God.

God beholds his creation and feels happy by contemplating over it.

To describe the realm of truth is as hard as steel.

Make purity and modesty your furnaces, and patience as your goldsmith.

Consider your mind as your anvil and divine knowledge as your tools.

Consider fear of God is as your bellows and practice of penance is the fire.

Treat the love of God as thought where in filters the nectar of God’s name.

Thus in the true mint the divine word is fashioned.

This is the daily routine of those on whom God casts his divine grace.

God with his kind look makes them happy.

Air is the guru, water is the father, and Earth is the great mother.

Days and nights are the two nurses in whose laps the whole world is at play.

Good and bad deeds are judged by the God of justice.

According to their deeds some will be adjusted near him and some will be distant from God.

Those who have contemplated his divine word would pass through all toils.

Their faces flow with the glory of the divine light, and many more are saved along with them.

Eduardo Galeano (1940-2015): Writing With Mind And Heart.

by Jerry Alatalo

superior111-1After finding a number of posts about the passing of Uruguayan writer Eduardo Galeano and noticing that – besides a book by Noam Chomsky – the late Venezuelan leader Hugo Chavez gave Barack Obama one of Mr. Galeano’s books as well in 2009, it seemed like a worthwhile idea to learn some more. Galeano’s most popular book was “Open Veins of Latin America” – the book Chavez gave to Obama, and a historical Latin American account of 500 years since 1492 and the arrival of Christopher Columbus.

The book’s description from Amazon:

“Since its U.S. debut a quarter-century ago, this brilliant text has set a new standard for historical scholarship of Latin America. It is also an outstanding political economy, a social and cultural narrative of the highest quality, and perhaps the finest description of primitive capital accumulation since Marx.

Rather than chronology, geography, or political successions, Eduardo Galeano has organized the various facets of Latin American history according to the patterns of five centuries of exploitation. Thus he is concerned with gold and silver, cacao and cotton, rubber and coffee, fruit, hides and wool, petroleum, iron, nickel, manganese, copper, aluminum ore, nitrates, and tin. These are the veins which he traces through the body of the entire continent, up to the Rio Grande and throughout the Caribbean, and all the way to their open ends where they empty into the coffers of wealth in the United States and Europe.

Weaving fact and imagery into a rich tapestry, Galeano fuses scientific analysis with the passions of a plundered and suffering people. An immense gathering of materials is framed with a vigorous style that never falters in its command of themes. All readers interested in great historical, economic, political, and social writing will find a singular analytical achievement, and an overwhelming narrative that makes history speak, unforgettably.

This classic is now further honored by Isabel Allende’s inspiring introduction. Universally recognized as one of the most important writers of our time, Allende once again contributes her talents to literature, to political principles, and to enlightenment.”

Found an interesting interview of the then-70-year old Eduardo Galeano at Talking Stick TV from 2010, where he summed up his writing process by saying “books write me”. He shares with the interviewer that books for him are like persons inside a house knocking on the door in hopes of someone hearing – not in the usual way by knocking to enter the home, but to let them out.

He had originally wanted to become a painter, but for some reason he didn’t explain in the interview, it “could not be”. Like all Uruguayan boys he wanted to play football (soccer) but he had “wooden legs”. He talked about hating history during his “short formal education” because it bored him, then learning the art of storytelling in the cafes of his native Uruguayan city Montevideo from anonymous “master” storytellers who only told their stories for the pleasure of it.

Mr. Galeano spoke about the way he more enjoyed hearing stories more than telling them, and described (confessed?) his practice of adopting words and phrases from others as his being a “word thief”. Thinking about his “thievery”, perhaps it’s accurate to say that everyone except the world’s most original thinkers practices plagiarism all the time. Virtually everything one learns comes from talking and listening to others, reading books, magazines, newspapers, blog articles, watching films and TV programs, along with other sources created by others. So, maybe persons obsessed/fearful about becoming labeled a plagiarist will find some stress-reduction/comfort after hearing the esteemed writer Eduardo Galeano’s “confession”.

“Feel-thinking” – merging of mind and heart

In what could be the greatest revelation by Mr. Galeano during the short interview with regard to his writing, he describes what a friend called “feel-thinking”, or the joining of mind with the heart. He believed that this connection is one of the most important of human beings’ personal qualities or optional forms of development, which has to a much too great extent “become divorced” in societies. This connection mentioned by Eduardo Galeano is seen in “absent” status by listening to certain political leaders. For example, during governmental debate/discussion of regions where war and violence has resulted in the deaths, injury and suffering of thousands or millions of men, women and children, politicians speak only from their minds, without expressing sadness or remorse only possible when the heart is present.

One wonders what would happen if parliaments around the world received remodeling and were transformed into working cafes.

On democracy, he saw that young people had lost faith in it to the point where very few take the time to vote, resulting in a certain “crisis of democracy”. It’s possible that, as a direct result of those young people unable to become inspired by men and women candidates whose minds and hearts have become “divorced”, Eduardo Galeano’s “feel-thinking” concept learned from an old friend represents much more than a simple philosophical thought.

He goes on to say that he stays the same whether in a public or private setting, never worried about changing for different occasions but always interacting with others as if sitting in a cafe – like those where he learned how to tell stories. He tells of learning from a Nicaraguan poet friend about objectivity and subjectivity. He suggested to his poet friend Jose that he was having a hard time in his writing being objective, and his friend replied “don’t worry about it”.

“Objectivity is a lie. The human gaze is always subjective, and those who preach objectivity as a religion, they don’t really want to be objective. They want to be objects; to be saved from human pain”.

Galeano then told the interviewer, “…and I don’t want to be (an) object”.

Nearing the end of the interview, Eduardo Galeano said to the interviewer:

“I want to restore the terrestrial human rainbow because it has been mutilated by machismo, racism, militarism, elitism, denying poor people from being part of history… to restore the splendor of the human race”.

He closes the interview session by conveying to the host that it was a “pleasant conversation”, and that he “forgot we were in a radio station”.
