oil wellAlphabet So, what to make of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s speech to Congress?

How about 100% political theater, shocking, and gravely concerning. Very dangerous political theater of the kind performed by George W. Bush, Dick Cheney and Tony Blair during their lies in the run up to the 2003 invasion/war on Iraq. Shocking in its brazen attempt to intentionally deceive. And gravely concerning for its message with clear warnings and threats of a repeat of Iraq War-scale violence in the Middle East.

According to nearly every serious analyst of the Middle East, Netanyahu’s speech was filled with inaccuracies, tough-sounding unrealistic falsehoods, and dramatically delivered, complete obfuscations. However, what is most important to remember about Netanyahu’s speech was the inherent, real danger of his message.

Because Netanyahu’s speech can only be described as a declaration of war against Iran.

Many will remember the days in 2003 before George W. Bush unleashed “Operation Shock and Awe”, the war on Iraq based on lies about “weapons of mass destruction”, when millions of men and women around the world protested Bush, Cheney and Blair’s war of aggression – before the first bomb dropped on Baghdad.

Listening to Netanyahu’s speech, laced with lies just as the ones Bush, Cheney and Blair told the world before the invasion/bombing of Iraq, one senses that a similar pre-war global protest of millions may indeed again become necessary. While in America, the mainstream media neglected to ask Netanyahu to share his opinion on why the most dangerous terrorist organization in world history – ISIS – hasn’t attacked his nation of Israel, and for an explanation about why Israeli military forces aren’t engaged in the fight against ISIS.

The media could have gone straight to the issue and asked Netanyahu if Israel, Saudi Arabia, Qatar and others in the Middle East weren’t colluding in backing ISIS terrorism with money, arms, and training. The media could have asked Netanyahu to explain his comparing ISIS to Iran in his speech, while Iran has been leading the fight against ISIS as his military remains completely uninvolved.

The media could have asked Netanyahu if he has any regrets over the 2,500 Palestinians who died during his command over last summer’s “Operation Protective Edge”, or the 10,000 who suffered injuries, or the thousands now living in tents enduring freezing temperatures after their homes, and businesses, became partially or completely destroyed by Israeli bombs. Media could have asked him to give a thorough explanation for Israel’s continuing annexation of Palestinian land, for construction of even more illegal settlements.

Media could have asked Netanyahu to respond to worldwide allegations that he is a war criminal for his actions while commanding Operation Protective Edge.

Most reasonable Americans, when looking back at George W. Bush, Dick Cheney, Condoleeza Rice and Colin Powell’s outright lies including terms like “we know where the WMDs are”, “mushroom cloud” and “too late”, along with an Academy Award-deserving performance before the world at the United Nations Security Council, have developed a firm determination summed up in the phrase “never again”.

Benjamin Netanyahu, in his completely fear-mongering, lying speech before an astonishingly adoring, eager and thrilled-to-praise with standing ovations group of America’s elected “leaders”, is strongly and very dangerously advocating “again”. Those who’ve done only a moderate amount of research into Operation Protective Edge know clearly that Benjamin Netanyahu is a certified, genuine war criminal who, in a world where true justice prevails, would now be in prison.

In the following video interview with The Real News, former Colin Powell close associate during the George W. Bush administration Lawrence Wilkerson said that the current Israeli-Saudi alliance can only result in events he described as “nefarious”. Is it possible – remembering very possibly the greatest foreign policy disaster in American history: the lie-producing, truly hellish Iraq War – that “nefarious” (adj. characterized by evil) falls far short as a descriptive when seriously considering the dangerous situation in the Middle East?

In a matter of days, the people of Israel will vote in an extremely important election. Benjamin Netanyahu’s name will be on the ballot. Pray the citizens of Israel cast their votes in the state of highest wisdom and moral courage, without fear.

    Here you’ll see a video of a presentation Netanyahu made before a Congressional committee in 2002 in which he encouraged a US attack upon Iraq. “A nuclear-armed Saddam will place the security of our entire world at risk,” he says at one point.It seems very much as if this man has been advocating war throughout much of his adult life.

    1. Thanks for spreading the message. Certain people living in Israel have been heavily involved in all aspects of oil and gas industry in the Middle East, including profits from weapons manufacture and sale, becoming extremely wealthy in the process. Unfortunately for the ordinary men, women and children of the region, those who’ve taken a disproportionate share of the region’s wealth to themselves want to keep it that way, and are willing to harm and destroy on the largest scale to maintain power and control. Instead of sharing the natural resources wealth in a more equal manner benefitting all, greed results in violence and wars – a situation one could describe as approaching, if not meeting, the definition of evil. In Oliver Stone’s documentary “South of the Border”, the late Argentine leader Nestor Kirchner appeared on camera and shared his personal meeting with George W. Bush, where Bush told Kirchner “war is good for the economy”. Netanyahu has that same psychopathic mind-set, and hopefully he will lose the approaching election. He is a very dangerous human being.       Netanyahu’s speech and the reactions from U.S. elected representatives, standing ovations for a war criminal, was very strange to watch. If Jon Stewart shed any light of truth on the disturbing, dangerous spectacle, more power to him.
