The Unreported BRICS Factor And World Events.

gaswellPerhaps the most precise way to describe the years-long development of the new BRICS alliance of nations (Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa, and others) is that it represents the beginning of the end of white supremacy in international affairs on Earth. In a very real sense, the BRICS alliance of nations and peoples could be perceived as the next large step forward on a historical continuum – what Martin Luther King Jr. called the “arc of history” – leading to the eventual creation of equality around the world.

BRICS is what it’s all about when analyzing today’s major world news events. The highly controversial, widely-debated (everywhere but the western mainstream media), and protest-generating Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) and Trans-Atlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP) were born with BRICS’ potential (also never mentioned in western mainstream media) in mind. Both of the massive, secretive, trade deals were specifically designed to prevent the BRICS alliance from gaining momentum, size and power.

Nations in Asia and Europe which sign on to the “top-secret – classified” trade deals, if major opposition fails to stop them from becoming implemented, will effectively place themselves behind a “BRICS Wall” of legalese virtually guaranteeing their continuance in the pre-BRICS status-quo; essentially maintenance of profound wealth inequality. Corporate lawyers creating the trade deals in secret are trying to “freeze” human evolution. TPP and TTIP can rightly be looked at as “Trojan Horses” designed to forestall historic movements of people around the Earth opposed to the negative consequences of decades and centuries of living under systems which have resulted in billions of people living in either harsh austerity or outright, abject poverty.

The absolute source of contention with regard to BRICS’ emergence and historic potential boils down to power and who gets it. The issue of wealth inequality on Earth in 2015 has become widely disseminated and become the basis of a great deal of debate. Oxfam International has reported that 80 individuals (down from 85 in their 2014 estimate) own as much wealth as the poorest 3.5 billion people on the planet, generating a tremendous amount of discussion from all regions about new, alternative, reformed, and more egalitarian/just economic and monetary models.

The developments undertaken by the BRICS group of nations marks the first time in history the so-called world “elites” have experienced real “pushback” over the ways global governance has become implemented in clearly less-than-idyllic realities for billions of men, women and children for generations. Wars, both military and economic/financial, are increasingly being strongly opposed by people around the Earth, and those same people are studying, advocating, and proposing new/alternative ways of living that reduce or eliminate problems of poverty, state-sponsored violence and war (military and financial, economic sanctions), environmental destruction, and oligarchies able to “buy” politicians and entire governments.

Nowhere is that last problem – billionaires literally able to buy governments – more visible than in America, where two brothers with the last name of Koch are planning on spending near one billion dollars on the 2016 campaign to choose the next president of the United States.

Purveyors of economic sanctions have as their most visible, destructive example recent measures taken by Saudi Arabia, colluding with others trying to slow or stop the BRICS movement, resulting in huge drops in the price of oil. The nations feeling the greatest negative impact of those oil price drops are Russia, Venezuela, Iran and other oil exporters. It seems clear that this has been real economic warfare, and that it had designs to foment instability in nations calling for more respect for their views in the arena of sovereign and global governance/international relations.

Potential 2016 presidential candidate Jeb Bush, whose father and brother both served as president of the United States, gave a foreign policy speech in Chicago recently. During the speech, Mr. Bush made some comments on recent developments regarding opening up of relations between the United States and Cuba. In Jeb Bush’s view, Barack Obama should have been a little more “patient” before announcing any movements by his administration toward normalizing U.S.-Cuba relations.

Mr. Bush pointed out that Venezuela has come to the aid of Cubans with generous subsidies on oil. In Jeb Bush’s mind, Barack Obama should have been more “patient” because with $45/barrel oil, and Venezuela overseeing perhaps the world’s largest, most lucrative oil reserves, America could have obtained a “better deal” with the Cubans. Now, where did Jeb Bush get the information which led to his confidant assertion that Mr. Obama’s Cuba announcement suffered from the absence of “patience”?

His use of the word “patience” suggests Mr. Bush is very well aware that Saudi Arabia’s actions to lower global oil prices were initiated precisely as economic warfare against Venezuela, Russia, Iran and other independent-thinking, oil-producing nations.

Some will remember late-night news coverage during the 2000 presidential election when poll results in Florida were eagerly anticipated because that state could decide whether George W. Bush or Al Gore became the next leader of the free world. Some will remember that Jeb Bush, George W. Bush’s brother, was the governor of Florida at that time. Certain TV news outlets that evening had decided and announced that Al Gore was the winner in Florida.

News cameras were in the hotel room of George W. Bush, and he spoke out that the Gore win announcements were premature because all the counties’ votes hadn’t been counted yet. Without explicitly saying it, George W. Bush was calling for more “patience”.

After the historic events of September 11, 2001, some 440 days passed before the George W. Bush administration relented in its stonewalling of emotional requests for an investigation from surviving family members of those who died on 9/11. Those surviving family members displayed enormous “patience” in the over 440 days that elapsed before the 9/11 Commission began its work.

Surviving family members have also exhibited great “patience” in waiting for the Obama administration to declassify/release the “28 Pages” left out of the official 9/11 Commission Report. Those 28 pages, according to the Washington lawmakers who’ve actually read the documents (but prohibited from divulging because it’s classified), points to Saudi Arabia ($45/barrel oil) as a financier of 9/11 terrorists.

It seems the world’s “elites” are somewhat inconsistent. In some situations, like Cuba and Venezuela, they wisely advocate for more patience. In other situations, such as the great global transformation from unipolar to multipolar – illustrated by efforts to slow or stop BRICS’ rise through destructive wars both military and economic, elite “patience” has grown disturbingly, harmfully, and dangerously thin.

Certain people walking this Earth need to display real moral, ethical and wise patience. For the health, safety and well-being of humanity.

Paul Craig Roberts: Inconvenient Truth.

Posted on December 22, 2014

by Jerry Alatalo

oneness3Alphabet Any man or woman familiar with former U.S. Treasury Department official Paul Craig Roberts knows he doesn’t pull punches when it comes to speaking his truth. One good example of this comes from the following discussion with Greg Hunter when he talked about the “Citigroup provision” tacked on to the U.S. government omnibus spending bill.

The banker-written legalese repeals the most important legislative initiative in the Dodd-Frank rules, where banks have to move their derivatives gambling to subsidiaries not insured by the FDIC, or taxpayers. The omnibus bill passed the House and Senate despite a few strong opponents, Senator Elizabeth Warren the most forceful in her focused speeches against. Now the American taxpayers are “on the hook” if/when any of the God only knows how many trillions of dollars in bets by the banks go south.

Mr. Roberts said about the Citigroup provision: “This is sick, and shows the United States government is the most corrupt on Earth”. Very strong words from the former Treasury official in the Reagan administration. Unfortunately, most elected lawmakers in Washington, D.C. failed to utter words equivalent to Roberts’. In essence the man simply spoke the truth. His perception is that either the Citigroup provision became inserted into the “must pass” spending bill because there may possibly be an imminent crash of a massive derivatives bubble in the trillions of dollars, or that the CEO of Citigroup has a very large ego.

Given the FDIC stock of reserves to cover depositor losses does not even come close to the potential derivatives losses now insured after the bill passed, Roberts, without delving into the subject, spoke of the term “bail-in”. This is when banks cover their losses by confiscating money from depository accounts, and many remember the highly upset Cypriots who went through experiencing bail-ins. Perhaps Citigroup’s CEO has more fear of massive losses from derivatives bets than any extraordinary liking for himself in the form of a giant ego.

In other words, the Citigroup provision does not increase confidence in the American economy, but can only be seen as a strong warning of rough waters ahead. There is no reason that the Citigroup provision cannot become repealed, and the U.S. Congress should rightly repeal it. Citizens from every state in America should take strong action in opposition to this terrible legislative action, and demand that it become stricken now.

Repeal the Citigroup provision now.

Paul Craig Roberts points to two possible causes for the Russian ruble’s recent drop. Hedge funds are selling the ruble short, or someone is manipulating the ruble and has no interest in, or potential to, realize profit or loss. He told Greg Hunter that nothing can explain why the Russian ruble is falling, that it is clearly a manipulation, and that Russia and China are both disadvantaged because their economists have been trained in neoliberalism, what Roberts sees as the main tool of U.S. financial imperialism.

Roberts perceives that Russia and China have established economic systems that are “deplorable”, and dangerous to their own national economic interests – even more dangerous than sanctions. In the following video, a Russian man by the name of Evgeny Fedorov describes Russia’s situation as one where the Bank of Russia, its version of America’s central bank the Federal Reserve, is legally a foreign-controlled central bank, and that Vladimir Putin has no authority over it.

Honestly, what he describes in Russia’s monetary system is new information and surprising; however, if he is giving an accurate assessment of what is occurring in Russia, the events rival the stuff found in the late Tom Clancy’s novels. If he is correct, the central bank of Russia is not controlled by the Russian people, it clearly shows the people of Russia are not sovereign or independent, and that there are perhaps some big-time changes coming soon at their central bank. Could the same observations and circumstances apply to the privately owned Federal Reserve central bank of America?

Paul Craig Roberts discusses resolutions recently passed through the U.S. House and Senate – unanimously in the Senate, only ten in opposition in the House of Representatives, as Roberts puts it, “demonizing” Russia, defining it as a great threat, with terms for the sending of military arms to Ukraine so Ukrainians “fight Russia in place of the U.S.”, all, according to Mr. Roberts, for the goal of breaking economic, political, and cultural relations between Europe and Russia.

He mentions the “Matrix” nature of awareness in these times where economic, military, and political announcements from government institutions stand far from true conditions lived by the American people and those of other nations. Roberts says “we live in a totally made up world”. Paul Craig Roberts is a man whose messages are not pleasant to hear, like Al Gore’s inconvenient, but most certainly pass the test resulting in worthiness of concerned citizens’ highly focused attention.

Weapons Of Mass Ukraine Truth.

Posted March 23, 2014

by Jerry Alatalo

“The facts fairly and honestly presented; truth will take care of itself.”

– William Allen White (1868-1944) Editor

blogger7-1This is Part 2 of an interview of former Reagan administration official Paul Craig Roberts (PCR) on “Outside The Box” with Jason Liosatos. In part one of this interview about events in Ukraine Mr. Roberts said, “American officials have no shame about standing up in public and telling lies.”  PCR has gained a reputation for being very frank and holding no punches when either speaking in public or writing articles.

PCR gets straight to his views by stating that the United States has two major reasons for its involvement in Ukraine:

The looting of Ukraine. Transnational agribusiness corporations have designs on Ukraine’s rich and seemingly endless farmlands. Oil and gas transnationals have designs on Ukraine’s natural gas reserves available for production through hydraulic fracturing (fracking), which is direct competition with Russian gas supplying much of the European Union states’ needs.

Military advantage over Russia. PCR sees this as a way of putting a halt to Russian interference in United States goals of establishing hegemonic status in the world.

Here, he mentions the concept of American “exceptionalism” which has become such that U.S. foreign policy has been infused with an irrational level of arrogance, hubris, and self-righteousness. Jason Liosatos said, “Imagine a system where the enemy is the truth”, expressing to PCR his frustration and disbelief that the truth about what is really occurring in Ukraine is not being reported. He then mentions to PCR the leaked now-viral phone call between European Union foreign affairs head Catherine Ashton and Estonian foreign minister Urmas Paet of March 5.

This phone call contained the highly provocative statements of Mr. Paet where he suggested snipers in Kiev were shooting and killing both police and civilian victims, and that the perception that ousted President Viktor Yanukovych gave the orders to kill were wrong. Mr. Paet later in the call suggests that the snipers were partnered with groups who were protesting for resignation by Yanukovych – regime change – destabilizing Ukraine’s government or, in other words, a violent coup d’état.

He asks PCR in a both sad and almost fearful anticipation – in a way that makes one think Mr. Liosatos wishes he didn’t have to speak the words – “is it true, Paul?” PCR responds to the question in an almost lackadaisical way – like he is speaking about common knowledge – by saying that the United States has a long history of overthrowing governments. He gives the examples of Iran, Chavez’ Venezuela, Iraq, Afghanistan, etc., detailing the 2002 coup attempt on Hugo Chavez that was unsuccessful because the Venezuelan people took to the streets in such massive numbers that Chavez was placed back into power.

In a very casual way PCR said, “everybody knows the United States overthrows governments”.

Mr. Roberts tells Mr. Liosatos that nobody should become surprised if the U.S. government played a part in the nearly 100 murders in Kiev, Ukraine, matter-of-factly saying, “they kill people all the time”. He points out that hundreds of thousands of Iraqis died in the Iraq War, so why would those who call the shots in America be concerned about 100 deaths in Ukraine, where unarmed police officers and civilians were falling to bullet shots.

In Part 2 here the men discuss “collective amnesia” and Americans’ apathy regarding world events, PCR giving one reason for this as the American people’s perceptions that they have no stake in the events reported on their television screens, in this case Ukraine. Events in Ukraine are such that Americans don’t see how they have any effect on them, so Americans spend time on football games, American Idol, the new car models, or movies.

PCR states that Americans should be very concerned about events in Ukraine, because presently they don’t realize their very existence could be at stake. He shares his view that the U.S. government is mistaken if they think Russia is similar to smaller nations like Libya, Iraq, Afghanistan, or Syria. With an unmistakable sense of warning he states that Washington is taking actions that are a direct strategic threat to Russia, right in their backyard.

He compares this to America sticking their fingers directly into the eyes of Russians. The countries of Europe like the United Kingdom, Germany, and France are enabling this – what PCR views as – “recklessness”. His view also holds that Russia feels that war has been prepared against them, and that the U.S. government must restrain all arrogance and hubris now.

PCR goes on to say that a “big lie” has been perpetrated on the American people – that Russia invaded Ukraine – and that this “absolute, total lie” is now accepted by everyone, and could be impossible to correct. He ends the interview by saying that European nations have enabled the U.S. to take the reckless actions, and they need to find the way to end that enabling.

Finally he sums up by saying, “it remains to be seen if there’s any leadership in Europe.”

One observation about this interview was the intermittent laughter of Paul Craig Roberts. Perhaps because he gives a lot of interviews like this, along with discussing issues of magnitude and ultimate horror like nuclear war, laughter has become a kind of release valve. Be that as it may, what Paul Craig Roberts says here needs to become placed in the consciousness of the American people through whatever channels available.

Paul Craig Roberts – a former high-ranking United States federal government official – is the possessor of “Weapons of Mass Ukraine Truth”.
