[Editor’s commentary: Imagine a neighborhood swimming pool anywhere on Earth where children love to go and enjoy their summers. Imagine those swimming pools are filled with the highest-octane gasoline instead of water. Now imagine there are very suspicious-looking men positioned just outside the swimming pools’ entrances, and they are handing out Bic lighters to the children.

Most sane people would have no difficulty whatsoever in accepting the death penalty as the most effective means of deterring the men handing out lighters, having clearly have no respect for the lives of innocent children.
