ISIL’s Western, Monarch Backers Playing ‘Very Dangerous Game.’

The Pope has described ISIL (Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant), now calling themselves the “Islamic State” (IS), as an “unjust aggressor”. U.S. Secretary of Defense Chuck Hagel said “we must keep all options open” and describes IS as perhaps the most barbaric terrorist organization in history. In the past few days, news of the beheading of an American journalist has gone around the world, opening up what some journalists/analysts see as a new opportunity for a U.S. bombing campaign foiled last September, after the world learned chemical weapons attacks in Syria were a “false flag” designed to pull in the U.S./UK/France militarily.

Right on cue, NBC Nightly News on August 22, 2014 included full-screen photos of the journalist in its lead story about possible air strikes by the U.S. against IS positions in Syria. What was missing from the report were statements about beheadings which were carried out by rebel mercenaries fighting against Syria all through the 3 1/2 years of the Syrian conflict/crisis, where the number of lives lost has surpassed 190,000. Peace activist Father Dave Smith said on George Galloway’s talk program a few months ago that he was aware of 2013 Christmas-season mercenary beheadings where the mercenaries placed detached heads as ornaments on trees in Syrian streets.

NBC Nightly News last Christmas felt no need to report on that or similar barbaric atrocities committed in Syria.

So, the U.S. is leveraging the barbaric killing of an American journalist to bring about the Syrian bombing campaign blocked last September? Why would NBC Nightly News link/include the journalist in a lead story about possible U.S. air strikes inside Syria? And why did the U.S. allow IS to go on their “most barbaric terrorist organization in history” rampage of death for months in Iraq, without concern for their atrocities, until after Nouri al-Maliki was removed from political power in Baghdad?

The Americans, British and Israelis have supported mercenary terrorists warring against Syria since the fighting there escalated in 2011. It may have been only coincidence that violence escalated after Syria, Iraq, and Iran agreed to build a multi-billion dollar natural gas pipeline from Iran through Iraq and Syria to the huge European market. The provided mercenary support includes money, weapons, and training. Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Qatar, and Turkey have also supported terrorist mercenaries warring in Iraq and Syria, all over control of the Middle East’s energy resources, pipeline routes, and competition for profits from the sales of oil and natural gas.

After the perhaps worst foreign policy blunder/catastrophe in United States history, Iraq War II, Americans were firmly against any more wars in the Middle East and – after the American people learned that George W. Bush, Dick Cheney, Tony Blair, Colin Powell and others lied to the world so the war would become carried out – they were especially against any “boots on the ground”. Too many Americans lost their sons and daughters, saw their sons and daughters seriously maimed physically, psychologically, and spiritually – or commit suicide – based on lies.

Because Americans were extremely resentful of their government for lying about war and peace, the most solemn decision any leader or leaders must make: putting America’s sons and daughters in harm’s way, the threshold for sending troops to fight “on the ground” has been forever raised to a height where there must be profound reasoning and thorough, lengthy investigation on why troops/”boots” are called for.

Paid mercenaries replaced American “boots on the ground”. Those paid mercenaries are the Islamic State. Mercenaries fight proxy wars, and that is what they’ve done in the Middle East. It is unknown whether IS has carried out orders from their paymasters or if the fighters have gone “rogue” and decided to grab as much wealth from Middle East resources and land possible for themselves. Who has been purchasing oil/gas from IS? And why doesn’t the U.S. mention IS’ oil/gas sales as a major concern/priority? It should not be difficult to find those nations/companies purchasing stolen gas/oil from IS, then implementing punishment in the form of legal actions or economic/financial sanctions.

Ontario, Canada human rights lawyer Edward Corrigan thinks IS has gone rogue and is now uncontrollable by those nations who have previously supported them with money, weapons, and training. According to Mr. Corrigan, because of IS controllers’ hubris and arrogance and the feeling that they’d always maintain control over the mercenary army, now the controllers are experiencing severe “blowback”. The U.S. in particular finds itself in the situation where they have supported IS in Syria and are fighting them in Iraq; what Mr. Corrigan describes as “my definition of insanity”.

He tells the interviewer in the following video that “you can’t have it both ways” and that western powers and monarchies in the Middle East are playing a “very dangerous, crazy game – unless your idea is to destroy the entire region”.

French intellectual, founder and chairman of Voltaire Network and The Axis for Peace Alliance – Thierry Meyssan – wrote an article recently which places U.S. Senator John McCain in an uncomfortable position with regard to “the most barbaric terrorist organization in history”: IS. The article is: “John McCain, Conductor of the ‘Arab Spring’ and the Caliph”, and includes a photograph of Mr. McCain sitting in on a group meeting, attended by a man who Mr. Meyssan suggests is the Islamic State’s mysterious leader al-Baghdadi; perhaps now the world’s most-wanted terrorist. It’s not for certain whether the photograph is “photo-shopped”/altered or if it’s genuine, but certainly Senator McCain can answer that question.

Those in positions of wealth and political power involved with shaping Middle East events know the high stakes geopolitical operation they are in, and how each action they take will harm or help the people living in the region. A Middle East-North Africa Peace Conference offers that region the opportunity to place historic truth on the table and use that truth as the basis for reasonable discussions leading to good agreements. Good agreements are ones which first focus on the health and well-being of all people living in the region, and especially an end to wars, destruction, and suffering. Generations of men, women, and children in the Middle East and North Africa have been the victims of “very dangerous, crazy games” for far too long.

To solve the long-standing problems in the Middle East and North Africa, leaders who are benevolent must come to the forefront; those who wish to carry out good works and actions which benefit others. Those who are malevolent – having both the capacity and willingness to intentionally inflict any type of harm on innocent others – need to be removed from all positions of leadership and decision-making. It is as simple and complex as that.
