GMO. Part 2.

The Schmeisers still had not escaped from having to deal with Monsanto. Monsanto canola had gone on to their farm and they contacted Monsanto to remove the crops. Monsanto faxed a legal contract to the Schmeisers which had a paragraph blacked out. The Schmeisers requested the form be re-faxed without the paragraph being blacked out. The paragraph read, “No one in the Schmeiser family will ever sue Monsanto… The Schmeiser family will not talk about this case to anyone…” The Schmeisers took Monsanto to small claims court and Monsanto was ordered to pay the Schmeisers $640 for their removal of Monsanto canola plants, setting a precedent for GMO corporate liability.

The Schmeisers considered the precedent to be a great thing for farmers all around the world.

There is no such thing as containment of GMO crops. It is impossible to prevent GMO crops from travelling by wind, insect or animal to the surrounding environment. This is why it is of the utmost importance that GMO foods be banned as soon as possible.

Many of you reading this understand that organic foods are much more nutritious than conventional or GMO foods and offer more minerals and vitamins. Organic farming yields 80% more than GMO crops. Organic farming and the clean operation of the organic farmers are threatened with GMO contamination. Organic farmers all around the world are extremely concerned about GMO food/crops literally destroying their farms and livelihoods.

The GMO food product we are about to describe requires that we issue a preliminary warning to you. We pray for your spiritual, emotional and physical health upon learning of this genetically modified food product. The product is what is called a terminator seed.

The seed is one which terminates itself, commits suicide, after one planting. The age-old practice since time immemorial of farmers saving their seeds for next year’s planting is in jeopardy. The ramifications of terminator seeds are incomprehensible. Thinking about the ramifications is so utterly saddening that one is unable to convey the emotions felt with any words in the human language.

Monsanto GMO cotton has been in India now for a several years. As opposed to the claims made by supporters of GMO crops such as higher yields and less chemical spraying costs, the seed and chemical input costs paid by Indian farmers have increased manifold. Many of these farmers have had to get loans from banks to save their farms and livelihoods. Many have not been able to earn enough money to keep their farms going and have been financially destroyed.

The combined effects of being unable to save seeds because of terminator seed technology and the massive increase in seed and chemical costs has led to a tremendous amount of farmers in India losing their farms.

Terminator seeds are all about total control of the world’s food supply. One cannot believe that this state of affairs is a reality on planet Earth at this time. Monsanto and other corporations involved with genetically modified food have spent billions of dollars buying seed companies to dominate food production world-wide.

There will be no choices, no co-existence and no containment with GMO food/crops. The yields are lower, chemical costs are four times higher and the nutritional yield is 50% lower than traditional food/crops.

There is no benefit  derived by allowing GMO food/crops to continue. There are nothing but negative consequences seen and felt by humanity through the continued planting of GMO crops. GMO food will result in more hunger and starvation on Earth. The social impacts are incalculable.

Percy Schmeiser describes the lengths that Monsanto will go to enforce their patents through legalities. He describes Monsanto’s contracts with farmers as vicious, containing gag orders and resulting in the farmers’ giving up of all rights. There is small print saying that if you open a bag of Monsanto seed you agree to all terms of Monsanto’s patent whether you signed a contract or not.

Farmers receive letters from Monsanto where if you tell Monsanto about a neighboring farmer that has Monsanto crops on their farm you will get a free leather jacket.

Monsanto has created an atmosphere of fear in farming communities all around the world. Extortion letters have been delivered where Monsanto demands money from farmers because Monsanto thinks the farmer has their crop. Threats of lawsuits from Monsanto have put farming families through a form of hell as these families worry about their futures and their farms.

In the past farmers freely talked and were friendly with their neighbors. This age-old spirit of community and friendliness has unfortunately been replaced by distrust and a tearing of the social fabric of farming communities.

Cities around the world are fighting against Monsanto, DuPont, Syngenta and other corporations to ban GMO foods. There are countries around the world that have already banned GMO food and crops. Most European countries require that food be labeled GMO for consumers to know what they are buying for their families.

There is no GMO labeling required by law in the United States of America. People in America do not know whether the food they are purchasing is GMO food or not although eighty percent of the people want GMO food labeled.

Ninety five percent of soy crops are GMO, seventy percent of the cotton and corn are GMO, sugar beet and alfalfa GMO’s have been given the go-ahead while wheat is in the works. Monsanto and other corporations own one half of the world’s seed supplies. These corporations have as their motivation the wish to maximize profits, increase market share and increase control over farmers’ abilities to survive and plant what they want.

One could use the analogy of the drug dealer when it comes to GMO agribusiness.

Monsanto has sued thousands of farmers since 1996 for “stealing” their patented crops when the farmers did nothing but let the wind blow.

Many of you are aware that the defoliant dioxin used in the Vietnam War was manufactured by Monsanto. Dioxin is one of the deadliest chemicals known to man and millions of people suffered exposure to dioxin in Vietnam. Cancer and genetic defects continue to afflict those exposed to dioxin in the Vietnam War. To this day both the people of Vietnam and American veterans are feeling the health consequences.

Thousands of affected veterans have been denied benefits because of falsified scientific studies on the effects of dioxin produced by Monsanto.

Monsanto GMO crops are all around the world and produced and sold because of falsified Monsanto studies. What kind of leaders would allow potentially harmful GMO crops to be grown and sold around the world when they knew that there were questions about their safety?

Monsanto has sued and bankrupted farmers who are simply doing God’s work of feeding people. They have no guilty conscience after destroying anyone who stands in their way.

These agribusiness monopolies destroy every farmer and community that gets in their path. This destruction of resources that allow people to live and survive, increases in illness, poverty and death are the ramifications of allowing the scourge of GMO food and crops to continue.

In many countries food sovereignty is fading away where people must move to cities and try to find food in garbage cans. Before GMOs they grew whatever food and raised whatever animals they needed on their small farms.

GMO foods have been proven to increase health problems associated with the immune system, reproduction and insulin regulation. Roundup herbicide is sprayed on farmland all around the world in huge quantities, drenching the soil.

Animal studies have shown GMO food to produce many times higher incidences of allergens, infertility and birth defects over non-GMO feeds. Many animals will not eat GMO foods.

Scientists who oppose GMOs after discovering safety problems suffer attack from powerful corporate controllers as well as retribution for telling their truths. Many of them give up after these attacks, including attacks in the media, take a toll on them and their families. Meanwhile one billion people go hungry in the world every day when distribution and poverty are the causes.

All of the promises made about GMO foods were not true. GMOs have lower yields, the seeds cost more, the crops need more chemicals, the seeds cannot be saved and the produce tastes no better, if not worse, than organic foods.

Regulatory agencies like the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) allow biotech companies to approve GMO foods themselves. The companies use unreliable, falsified data in their scientific studies to fix the process of approvals. The biotech industry protects itself from lawsuits as GMO food does not require labeling as GMO. How can a consumer sue for damages caused by GMO food if no one knows whether they consumed it or not?

The FDA has allowed free rein by food and pharmaceutical companies. An independent body must be formed to investigate safety concerns as effective scientific studies and evidence are in short supply.

Just as the financial industry had the ability to destroy the world’s economy, the GMO agribusiness industry has the potential to destroy the world’s food supply. Spiritual leadership of the highest caliber is needed at this time. There is no other choice for humanity but to put a stop to and banish GMOs.

What kind of legacy are we leaving to future generations? Humanity must fight for good safe food for everyone. Humanity must fight for the rights of farmers to produce safe food and re-use their seeds from year to year as the Creator designed.

GMO crops will do damage with cross-pollination. They will combine with other crops, plants, trees and animals. Terminator seeds are the greatest assault on life that the world has ever seen.

Folks, if you have not by now concluded that GMOs must be banned, the following will move you to demand it. Now. We pray that the following statistic does not harm you and that you are able to react in the highest spiritual way.

It has been estimated that between two hundred thousand and two hundred and fifty thousand Indian farmers have committed suicide in the last fifteen years. This is an international scandal of the highest order. We are sorry that we had to give you this information as it is information which is cause for much hurt and suffering.

It needed to be said as it is a true sign of the absolute severity of this human problem. We had to give you this statistic because it points to the reality which people absolutely must look at squarely and responsibly without delay.
